Do you hear that little squeaky noise in the back of your head? That‘s your calling to volunteer at this year’s Festival!
For an event such as the Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival to be successful, many man-hours and dedicated and energetic volunteers are needed. That’s where you come in. We need volunteers for positions ranging from assisting with the various tasting events, serving cheese curds and beer, setting up, cleaning, teardown, and more.
Volunteering at the Cheese Curd Festival is a win-win! Not only are you contributing to an important community event, but a $10 donation for each hour you work (plus a bonus, if applicable) also goes back to a local non-profit of your choosing! Since 2017, the Cheese Curd Festival has donated over $120,000 back to local non-profit organizations through our volunteer program!
The hours can really add up–Recruit your family, friends, and neighbors to help out with this important community event!

Special Volunteer Opportunities
We’ve identified a few volunteer roles at the Festival that need a little more commitment. To make sure we have these covered with a stellar group of people we’ve created four special volunteer opportunities. Perfect for larger groups with access to a larger pool of reliable volunteers. Because of the time/manpower needed, these roles receive a higher payout for their non-profit group.
Set up / Take Down Crew
This group will help convert the East End Park and surrounding area into a Cheese Curd Festival wonderland – and then reverse that on Sunday morning. Needs will be communicated via a pre-festival meeting, task lists, and maps. Cheese Curd Festival Committee Members will also be onsite to assist with questions.
This position is filled.
Grounds & Cleaning Crew
A clean festival is a happy festival. This group’s job will be the upkeep overall cleanliness of the festival. The committee and the attendees will be forever grateful!

Curd Fryers (Fryer University)
At Cheese Curd Festival, this is where the magic happens. You will man the fryers, taking direction from the official cheese curd frying experts from the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, at one of two Cheese Curd Central locations.
This position is filled.
Parking Lot Attendants
The festival will be utilizing two shuttle parking lots this year. Help us in welcoming our guests to Ellsworth! Throw on a big smile, direct attendees to available parking spaces, answer any questions, and keep parking areas clean.

Festival Daytime Security
We want the Festival to be happy and fun for all. This group of people will ensure everyone is following the few rules we have – and be the communication link to the police department when they are not on site.
