Cheese Curd Festival 2018: Let’s Reminisce, Shall We?

Remember Cheese Curd Festival 2018? Seems like forever ago. Our 17th Annual Festival grew in attendance by six times in one year (5,000 to 30,000). Holy cheese curds! We clearly underestimated the love people have for curds – silly us! The park was full–full of food, full of entertainment, full of fellow cheese curd fans, and full of fun. Let’s take a look back, shall we?

Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery knows their way around a cheese curd, so who better to man the tent that served up several thousand pounds of the delicious deep-fried morsels? Available in 3 flavors: Natural, Hickory Bacon (featured flavor of 2018), and Cinnamon Sugar.

In addition to the pounds and pounds of deep-fried cheese curds, there were 9 food vendors who rolled in with special cheese curd menu items for the festival. Grilled cheese, gyros, donuts, jalapeno poppers, poutine, kabobs, oh my!

There were a lot of cute pairings this weekend at Pride, but may we never forget the pairing of a craft beer and clever curd.

If you missed out on the fun last year, we’re doing it all again June 21-22, 2019! There are a few changes we’re making to prepare for the crowds; double the fryers, quadruple the manpower, triple the lines, double the footprint, double the food vendors, octuple the parking!

So if you have a deep-rooted love of cheese curds – we’ll see you there!
